A joyful celebration of song with fantastic community choir from Seers Green, Buckinghamshire, ‘Village Voices’, who will join together with Easingwold’s own mixed community choir, Easingwold Community Singers to provide a varied evening of music suitable for all tastes.
The evening will be led by musical directors Jane Smith and Easingwold’s own Jessa Liversidge. In addition to the choirs, the evening will feature some special solo performances, including some of Jessa’s acclaimed ‘looping around’ as well as some other special guests.
Village Voices are an upper voices community choir from Seer Green near Beaconsfield. They have sung in venues across Europe, but this is their first time singing in Yorkshire. They perform songs of all styles with flair and enthusiasm. Village Voices are led by Jane Smith, who was one of many choir leaders who teamed up with our local singer and singing leader Jessa Liversidge and many others worldwide through the lockdowns over 2020/2021 to collaborate and share ideas and support. This will be the first event Jane and Jessa have worked on together ‘in real life’.
Easingwold Community Singers, set up initially as ‘Easingwold Can Sing’, a WEA class, in 2010, has grown from strength in recent years, with membership now at a record 50 singers. The choir perform regularly at local events such as Alne Street Fayre, Easingwold Summer of Music, York Community Choir Festival and concerts at the Galtres Centre. The choir’s emphasis is on enjoyment and the mood-busting power of singing a huge range of songs in harmony, from pop classics and show tunes to rousing world music and uplifting new songs specially written for choirs.
Both choirs are really looking forward to working together to create a special evening of music for the folks of Easingwold.
