This marks the return of Gru and his mischievous Minions in a high-energy, family-centric adventure that blends slapstick comedy with heartfelt moments. Directed by Chris Renaud and co-written by Mike White and Ken Daurio, the film continues the saga of reformed supervillain-turned-AVL agent Gru, voiced once again by Steve Carell.

This time, Gru faces a new threat in the form of Maxime Le Mal (voiced by Will Ferrell), a flamboyant and vengeful former classmate who escapes prison with a plan to transform Gru’s infant son, Gru Jr., into a cockroach hybrid. To protect his family, Gru is forced into witness protection, adopting a new identity and relocating to a quiet suburban town. But trouble follows, especially when his new neighbour, Poppy Prescott (Joey King), blackmails him into helping her pull off a heist at their old villain school.

Meanwhile, the Minions—now working with the Anti-Villain League—undergo a superhero makeover as the “Mega Minions,” adding a fun twist to the franchise’s usual antics. The film culminates in a chaotic showdown involving brainwashing, flying cars, and a heartfelt father-son moment that brings the story full circle.
